This is the solar distiller: a low-cost, easy to use build model with the potential to improve the quality of life of vulnerable communities in arid, coastal town. Flora and Andressa, our current renewables interns, are working on its design, to improve final results. This is our third prototype, which includes altered design, quantity, and position of water containers, which will reduce the cost of materials, increase the efficiency of distillation, and allow a more eco-friendly construction of the distiller. This new design is easier to maintain, which will surely generate fewer challenges for the community once it is installed.
