The initiative consists of Herp-Ghana and Ecocare Ghana which help local people and communities in Ghana to grow trees.
The organizations within the initiative can develop sustainable livelihoods that creates an alternative to deforestation, and enhances peoples livelihoods.
African forests and landscapes are under significant pressure and are severely compromised. The continent loses approximately 2.8 million hectares of forests each year and about 50 million hectares of land is affected by degradation. Deforestation and landscape degradation threaten ecological functions vital to African economies.
